Farewell for now, Pound Ridge.

Last year, we opened a pop-up shop in Westport, CT. It was awesome. But when it was over, it felt like it hadn’t even happened. Time is funny like that: it flies by at light-speed when you’re having a damn good time. Which we did.

Fast forward almost one year to date, give or take a few days, and we found ourselves at it again and this time in Cronin’s old stomping grounds, Pound Ridge, NY.

Cronin was born in Mt. Kisco, NY, one of the hundreds of tiny towns that create the geographical composite that’s known as Westchester County. And 20 minutes east of Mt. Kisco sits Pound Ridge, which is nestled right on the New York / Connecticut border. And for the past month, CronArtUSA has had the pleasure of making Pound Ridge home. And truth be told, it really has felt just like that: a homecoming. An easy, welcomed homecoming.

Over the past month, we’ve found ourselves driving along the winding roads, past the stone walls and picket fences that stretch for miles and miles, bringing back memories for Cronin of some really good times, with some really good friends and family; bouncing off the walls at John Jay High School, hanging at the Pound Ridge Reservation, jumping off Castle Rock, running around Mountain Lakes Camps and Look Out Mountain, etc. It all feels nostalgic, a feeling that he often investigates in his work. It all taught him to live big. To take risks. To live loud. To live for what feels good.

And being back inside it all again made Cronin realize how fortunate he is. We’ve had a full month in our Pound Ridge pop-up, and feel so grateful for how welcoming the Pound Ridge and neighboring towns have been. And a big shout out to all of those friends and family who came and showed their support. Familiar faces and not so familiar faces got to see over 20 of his pieces, in 2,400 square feet of beautiful gallery space where he was able to show his larger pieces as a complete body of work. It was pretty dreamy

We close on Sunday, June 23rd. If you’re around this weekend, we’d love to see you. The door, as always, is wide open.
