“Sunday Brunch & Storytelling"
The Evolution of an Arts Community
Remembering a lovely Sunday when CronArtUSA welcomed Westport icons Miggs Burroughs, Michael Friedman, Elizabeth Devoll, Roe Halper, and Bob Weingarten to share stories focusing on their own personal experiences and contributions to the evolution of Westport becoming a leading Connecticut Arts Community. “We want to bring people together to share their experiences in real time, in a personal way, said Cronin. We were compelled to open a second space in Westport after discovering its deep roots as an artists community and we want to highlight and celebrate it. We want it to be an interactive experience for people so we will be opening it up for the audience to ask questions and/or share stories of their own.” Each of our storytellers brings a unique perspective and experience to the day.
We were thoughtful in bringing together a panel of people who have a connection to art, music, and architecture all of which have helped to shape the history of Westport.
Cronin also pointed out that the Storytelling Event is a reflection of the gallery mission. He explained that “CronArtUSA shines a certain spotlight on the spaces we’re grateful to occupy, both in New Paltz, NY and in Westport, CT: our galleries in both locations serve as unofficial community gathering places where art and dialogue find common ground, through the eyes and hearts of the people we’re fortunate to have in our lives: friends, family, and other artistic cohorts. We don’t merely like to use our spaces as environments to showcase artwork; we also like to use them as multi-functional meeting spaces where we can share the work and ideas of other like-minded individuals who share in a similar vision of the world that we do: a planet full of inclusion, peace, hope, and above all, happiness.”
This event took place in our popup gallery in Westport, CT. Stay tuned to our blog, follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our newsletter for exclusive invites to CronArt pop ups, events + gatherings.
