BIG MOVES. BIG LOVE.

From Senegal to the Hudson Valley

January is flying by faster than I imagined it would. Ryan returned home from Senegal, in early October, after his month-long artist’s residency at Thread. We immediately threw a party, hosted by our dear friends at La Luna Farm, who have been championing Ryan’s work over the past couple of years. We welcomed close to one hundred people throughout the night and together we soaked in the art, shared stories, sipped drinks, and had a good time.

The room felt as though it was vibrating and I am not exaggerating.
Ask anyone who was there.

From there we moved the work he created at the residency to Hudson Beach Glass Gallery in Beacon, NY thanks to Carl Van Brunt, who curated the show.

More recently, we installed the work in our gallery in New Paltz, NY in the Hudson Valley, if you're upstate, come by and check it out. Ryan captured a lot of photos, videos, and audio in addition to the paintings, collages, and found object sculptures that he created while in Senegal. We are putting it all together to create a traveling exhibition. If you happen to have connections to museums or galleries anywhere in the United States, we welcome them. Reach out!
